Dr Terry Wong lectures internationally on the topic of composite resin restorations.
Presently Dr Wong lectures at Melbourne University and La Trobe University in Bendigo on the topic of Aesthetic Dentistry and conducts hands-on programs about
free handed delivery of composite restorations.
He attended the Las Vegas Institute and studied occlusion at the Kois centre in Seattle. He has personally been instructed by Dr Newton Fahl of the Fahl School
of Art and Science in Aesthetic Dentistry in Brazil.
Dr Wong obtained his degree at Melbourne University in 1987 and maintains a general practice in Melbourne with emphasis on restorative dentistry.
Course Description
The placement of direct posterior composite restorations can sometimes be difficult. The dentist needs to have a sound understanding of bonding and shade
determination along with handling, shaping and polishing the material. Furthermore, when restoring proximal surfaces, achieving an adequate contact point can
often be a challenge.
The morning lecture and afternoon hands-on program will address these issues and equip the dentist with skills to achieve durable and aesthetic results by
adopting a simplified approach, requiring few instruments.

- Competently select shades for posterior composite restorations
- Reduce post-operative sensitivity with bonding
- Achieve occlusal anatomy and tight contact points
- Minimise occlusal adjustments
- Understand which instruments to use
- Refine the skills of shaping, finishing and polishing of composites
The Hands-On:
- Typodont with 3 cavity preparations
- Class I, II, incl. cusp build up
- Multi-layering technique employed
- Anatomical reconstruction including staining
